The Chief CMS491C is an above-suspended ceiling storage box designed to conceal AV equipment within a 1' x 2' (30.48 x 60.33 cm) ceiling tile grid. This enclosure facilitates a clean, professional installation in conference rooms and classrooms by providing a dedicated space for components while allowing for a 1.5" NPT column drop to mount projectors. The design improves image quality by allowing for optimal pipe flexibility within the tile, reducing the need for extensive image correction. For installers, the unit features a drop carriage door that provides full accessibility to equipment for easier servicing. The enclosure is TAA compliant and UL Listed. It is designed with four nested knockouts to accommodate 1-1/4", 1", and 1/2" diameter conduit. To simplify electrical workflows, the detachable power housing can be pre-installed by electricians on-site and later assembled to the storage box. The internal AV tray supports a variety of components up to a maximum equipment size of 7.61" x 19.25" x 12" (193 x 489 x 305 mm). This unit ships with one shelf included; however, additional shelves, such as the CMSUNV1, are sold separately.
