The Chief CMS491 is an above-suspended-ceiling storage box designed to conceal AV equipment in professional environments like classrooms and conference rooms. Sized to fit a 1' x 2' (30.48 x 60.33 cm) ceiling tile, this unit provides a clean, unobtrusive look by hiding components above the grid. It features a drop carriage door that improves accessibility and serviceability, granting full access to the equipment once installed. This model is UL evaluated for use in Air-Handling Spaces as defined by Article 300.22, Sub-clause (C) of the NEC. The unit includes integrated ventilation and can accommodate up to 1 single gang or 2 dual gang outlets via 4 nested knockouts designed for 1-1/4", 1", and 1/2" diameter conduit. For enhanced power protection, the unit can be paired with an EGX-SF2 Power Filtering & Surge Protection Wall Outlet.
