EFB6S-FC Evolution™ Six Gang Fire-Classified Floor Box
Six gang fire-classified floor box designed for 2-hour fire rated above-grade concrete floors
The EFB6S-FC is a six gang fire-classified floor box from the Evolution™ Series, engineered for installation in above-grade concrete floors while maintaining a 2-hour fire rating. This unit is specifically designed for new construction applications where the fire classification of the floor must be preserved. To maintain the floor's integrity, the assembly should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, typically spaced at 2' (0.61m) OC with no more than one unit per 4 square feet (0.37m2) of floor area in each span. This box is compatible with D900 Series floor-ceiling designs featuring nominal 2-inch or 3-inch deep fluted steel units with a 5-inch wide valley. For installations on polished concrete or terrazzo, the EFB610-CTR must be used and is sold separately. Users should consult a structural engineer before cutting into decking and add additional supports as instructed.
