The C2G CG01018 is a 1ft (0.3m) Cat5e slim patch cable designed for high-density datacenter applications where space and airflow are critical. Featuring 28 AWG stranded copper conductors, this cable offers a 28% reduction in diameter compared to standard Cat5e patch cables. This smaller 0.15 in (3.8 mm) diameter reduces the cable surface area, which improves airflow within crowded racks and cable management panels. The slim profile also allows for a significantly smaller bend radius, making it easier to route through tight spaces. Each RJ-45 male connector is equipped with a molded, snagless boot to provide strain relief and prevent accidental snags during installation. This blue cable is constructed with a PVC jacket and HDPE insulation. Note that while this cable meets ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 standards for patch cord performance, the smaller 28AWG conductors increase attenuation and do not meet the 22-26AWG conductor size recommended by the standard. For POE/POE+ applications, it is recommended to limit cable bundles to 40 units to manage heat dissipation from the reduced diameter conductors.
