This 12 ft (3.7 m) cable is constructed with 22 AWG twisted pair conductors to ensure signal integrity over the length of the run. To protect the signal from electromagnetic interference, the cable utilizes a dual-shielding design consisting of an aluminum foil shield combined with a 60% copper braid. The outer jacket is made of highly flexible 0.24 in (6 mm) PVC, which helps prevent kinking and protects the internal conductors from damage during installation and frequent movement. The connectors feature solid brass construction with bright nickel plating to resist wear during repeated reconfiguration of audio equipment. To protect the solder joints and contacts from age and mechanical stress, the XLR ends are equipped with chuck strain relief, while the series also incorporates spring strain relief for 1/4in plug variants.
