The Middle Atlantic UPS-S500R is a 1 RU Select Series UPS backup power system designed to maintain equipment uptime during power outages or voltage anomalies. This 500VA unit is suitable for both AV and security applications, providing essential protection through basic surge protection and EMI filtering. It utilizes automatic voltage regulation (AVR) to protect sensitive electronics from over and under-voltage by switching to battery power within 8ms of an anomaly. The unit features a simulated sine wave to keep costs efficient while ensuring equipment remains powered until voltage stabilizes. To assist in power management, the UPS includes separate critical and non-critical outlet banks that utilize load shedding to prioritize essential equipment during extended outages. For system integrators, the UPS-S500R includes an LED status indicator on the front panel for monitoring battery levels and overload status. Additionally, the hot-swappable battery pack can be replaced via the front panel, allowing for service without disrupting the installed system. Remote monitoring and control can be achieved by adding the optional UPS-OLIPCARD network interface card.
